After your candle has its last burn, you can easily clean the jar and continue to use it in all sorts of creative ways.
There are two methods to clean the wax out, one is to carefully pour out the melted wax after the wick has burned out and the jar has cooled slightly. The second way to rid your jar of wax is to freeze it overnight and scrape out the wax with a butter knife.
Once the wax is gone, soak the jar and lid in hot soapy water to easily remove any labels and wax residue. After thoroughly drying the jar, you can spray the inside and outside with rubbing alcohol and wipe with a paper towel to remove any leftover wax or label adhesive.
Now your jar is ready to reuse! Here are some reuse ideas:
- Store dog treats, paper clips, cotton pads, candies, or any dry goods that fit!
- Use it as a flower pot or for propagation
- Burn a tealight inside the jar
